Infographic: What Could Fit Inside Andy Beal's Mansion?

In Big D, it was a billionaire-to-billionaire deal of epic proportions.

In January 2016, Dallas billionaire Andy Beal bought a 25-acre estate in Dallas’ upscale Preston Hollow neighborhood from fellow Dallas billionaire Tom Hicks. Allie Beth Allman, a real estate agent who handled the deal for Hicks, calls Preston Hollow “a long-cherished setting for discerning buyers who want a pastoral setting within minutes of big-city attractions.”

Certainly, the Hicks estate could have been snapped up by only the megarich among those discerning buyers. The purchase price wasn’t disclosed, but Hicks had listed the mansion -- the largest in North Texas -- for $100 million. In that stratosphere, it’s the largest residential real estate deal in Dallas history.

Combined, the main house, guest house and pool house cover nearly 42,500 square feet. By comparison, the average new home in the U.S. encompasses about 2,600 square feet. That means Beal’s new space could accommodate 16 average new homes.

Considering its size, we were curious what else, such as Starbucks shops and Dairy-Ette restaurants, could be crammed into Beal’s new mansion. This infographic shows what we found out.
