From 2010 to 2016, the metro area grew from 1,842,191 to 1,978,816, an increase of 136,625 residents. This increase of 7.4% makes the region the #76 fastest growing MSA over that period, and the 22 fastest growing area with a base population of over a millions
Certainly some of the population growth can be attributed to birth rate, but where are all the other people coming from?
An additional Census study, released last week, gives us some answers. The recent study reveals data about metro-to-metro migration trends over the course of 2011 to 2015.
