Spring
- Lawn Care: Mow and fertilize beginning in early April. In March, apply a preemergent herbicide. Aerate before you add fertilizer.
- Planting: Begonias, geraniums, petunias, and pansies should be planted in April, along with creeping thyme and verbenas for ground cover.
- Mulch: Replace, add, or refresh mulch.
- Irrigation: Give your lawn one inch of water per week before 10 a.m.
- Landscape Lighting: Add new lighting to your yard.
Summer
- Lawn Care: Continue to mow weekly. Spot-treat any summer weeds.
- Irrigation: Local watering restrictions allow watering twice a week in the summer.
- Planting: Add lantanas, coleus, zinnias, and petunias for pops of color.

Fall

- Shrub Pruning: Cut everything back in late winter or early spring before the new growth arrives.
- Fencing: Winter is the best time to install a fence in North Texas.
- Hardscaping: Late winter is perfect for installing paver walkways and patios, decks, stone garden walls, and stamped concrete.
