Spring

• Lawn Care: Mow at least once in March, then weekly in April and May.
• Planting: Plant trees, bare root plants, and container plants after the last frost in March.
• Irrigation: Check irrigation systems for damage and set them up for the summer dry season.
• Mulch: Mulch flower beds in mid-spring.
• Hardscaping: Start projects involving concrete after the last freeze.

Summer

• Lawn Care: Mow once a week in June. Grass growth tends to go dormant in July and August due to dry weather, so mow only if needed.
• Irrigation: Water in the early morning to minimize evaporation.

Fall

• Lawn Care: Mow once or twice a month in September and October, then once in November. 
• Planting: Trees and plants in containers need to be planted before the first frost in November.
• Irrigation: Keep watering in September, then back off for the rainy season. Consider winterizing your irrigation system in case of freezing weather.
• Mulch: You can apply mulch after the first frost but before winter.
• Fencing: Dormant plants and short wait times make this a good time for fencing projects.
• Leaf Cleanup: Use a leaf blower or a rake to clear paths and your lawn. If it’s too much to handle, mulch some leaves or hire a leaf cleanup crew.

Winter

• Lawn Care: Mow once in December, stop in January, then mow once in February. Grass often grows too slow or is too wet to mow.
• Landscape Lighting: Make navigating your yard easier (and prettier) with outdoor lights.
• Shrub Pruning: Prune cold-hardy plants in February.
